Beginning January 31, LBCAP’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site will be open for the 2011 tax season.
This FREE program, which will run through mid-October, assists tax payers with their state and federal income tax returns and claim valuable credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit, Retirement Savings Contribution Credit and Child Tax Credit.
Services are provided at the main office every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with appointments available from 8:30am to 7:00pm.
Current-year (2011) returns only are being prepared through April 14; after that, both current-year and prior-year returns will be prepared.
